Captain Jim
Captain Jim Chiarenza was born and raised in Smithtown, Long Island. He began fishing at an early age of 3 years old with his father, Mickey Chiarenza. Mickey was the owner and designer of Tri-Fin Lures, creator of The Fisherman’s Magazine, and a well-known Striped Bass fisherman in the Northeast United States. At the age of 18 Captain Jim moved to Palm Beach, Florida and began to fish in competitive bass tournaments. In 2004 he placed 2nd in a Bassmaster Federation Southeast Division and in 2005 placed 3rd in the state of Florida, with Bassin Magazine. Later on, Captain Jim combined his fresh and saltwater experience and techniques to become an avid fisherman on the high seas. See the gallery of amazing catches.
